Japan’s official avalanche bulletin. An absolute must-read before ever venturing out of bounds. Snow-pack stability can change as quickly as the weather in Hakuba so make sure you stay up to date - knowledge is power in the backcountry.

Things to Know
Lift passes are loaded onto IC cards that can be tapped at gates (no paper tickets).
Most passes are non-transferable and valid for consecutive days unless otherwise specified.
Shuttle buses between resorts typically run every 30–60 minutes and align with lift operating hours.

Ski and Snowboard Lessons (2024–2025)
Hakuba is home to several English-speaking ski schools offering high-quality lessons for all ages and skill levels. Lessons are available at major resorts including Happo-One, Hakuba 47, and Goryu.
Group Lessons (Adults and Children)
Half Day: ¥7,000–¥8,000
Full Day: ¥10,000–¥12,000
Children's group lessons typically start from age 4 and are divided by age and skill level.
Private Lessons
Half Day (2 hours): from ¥25,000 (for 1–2 people)
Full Day (4–5 hours): from ¥45,000
Additional participants can usually be added for an extra fee (¥5,000–¥8,000 per person)
Lessons book out quickly during peak holiday periods, so advance booking is highly recommended. Leading schools include Evergreen Outdoor Center, Hakuba Snow Sports, and Hakuba Ski Concierge.
